I have never owned a pushing-in tool like that. I have been forced to use the tap-tap method, using a small hammer and a piece of maple. This method stops the seal at the lip and does not bottom it out. Personally I prefer engine designs with removable carriers. Talking about rear injun seals, I recently exposed my son's 110,000 Civic motor's rear face for a clutch. The whole area was so dry I could not bring myself to replace the seal. Unlike my Z whose rear engine face I have looked at several times, the area is always moist.
